Step 1: Fill out the application form and prepare these basic documents.

A genuine government-issued ID (see list of approved IDs here).
Proof of Occupancy papers. (See the list of acceptable Proof of Occupancy documents here.)

If you are renting a home or property, you must also provide the Undertaking, Disconnection Waiver, and an authorization letter from your landlord.
An electrical blueprint or inventory of electrical appliances.

Step 2: Fill out the application form and prepare these basic documents.

Expect to be visited for preliminary surveys and inspections.

All new applications must go through a series of preliminary surveys and inspections. These inspections will evaluate whether your home or business qualifies for an electrical connection.

Step 3: Construct your service entrance.

Once your application is granted, you must build the service entry that will hold your electric meter and must meet Meralco technical and safety criteria. You can have one of our qualified contractors or a private electrician handle this for you. Simply ensure that your service entrance meets our specifications to avoid repeating the process.

Once completed, please notify us so that we can conduct the final inspection. You must also complete all required local government inspections and provide a Certificate of Final Electrical Inspection (CFEI) before we may energize your home.

Step 4: Prepare your bill deposit.

Because electricity is invoiced after consumption, we will require a bill deposit (equivalent to a security deposit) before processing your service application.

The bill deposit is equal to your projected billing for one month, which is calculated using your load schedule or applied load. This is reviewed yearly and modified based on your current consumption, also known as the Annual Update of Bill Deposits (AUBD).
